Spooky's House Of Jump Scares

Can you survive 1000 rooms of cute terror? Or will you break once the cuteness starts to fade off and you're running for your life from the unspeakable hideous beings that shake and writhe in bowels of this house? They wait for you, they wait and hunger for meeting you.

  • Repeatability; I've completed this game only once, it took me hours and near to the end I was freaking out and losing my mind. With one thousand rooms, and many filled with puzzles or monsters, the game takes time and patience to complete. However, when trying to replay it, player begin to forget where everything was, and begin to experience a sort of "Aww crap, its this room." sort of feeling. However with many challenges the game is a hilarious to play and re-play. 8/10
  • Cost; Spooky's House Of Jump Scares is completely free, and despite being still in Beta stages, the price is not expected to increase. It's one of the best totally free to play Indie games I've found. 5/5
  • Predictability; Horror games really score points in this area, but none so much as Spooky's House. With seemingly endless sprawling corridors, and randomly generated maze rooms, there's not much n this game that can be predicted. With cardboard cutouts popping out of walls and giant flesh eating monstrosities, the game is absolutely anarchic and deranged. 5/5
  • Entertainment; If you enjoy getting the crap scared out of you, try this game. If you enjoy action, try this game. Even if you don't enjoy either of these, download the game, and play it to level sixty, I promise you that from there you will enjoy it. With a thousand levels getting increasingly more horrifying, as you go, the game will make your palms sweaty and your mouth dry. 10/10
  • Difficulty; Lucky for us, the game has a save point every fifty rooms, and, as I'm sure you can imagine, those rooms are a blessing for, during my first endeavor, I must've died at least sixty times. However, horror games are supposed to be difficult and terrifying, so I really think the developers did a good job of slowly making the levels harder. 9/10
  • Author Review; I loved it! If you're reading this, I highly recommend you try out the game, If you like horror, great! If you don't, at least give it a chance. 9/10
Total: 46/50 92% It's totally free, and I'm sure you'll all love it. This is also the highest scoring game yet! (You really should go try it!)

David. // Is A Game By Ace Armstrong

You play David, an awfully small abstracted chosen hero tossed into a blissfully simple world overrun by giant culminations of evil physics-beasts. As David, you are given a slingshot-esque gift that you will have to use to conquer your colossus foes. Be there AND be square.

  • Repeatability; This cute little physics launcher has eight starting levels, each with an easy or hard difficulty, which can be played in any order. the game has three "moar" difficult levels already unlocked at the beginning as well. Arena mode is unlocked after completing all eight starter levels on easy, in this mode, the players spend points to gain more health, and bullets and then attempt to endure progressively harder enemies. Each level can be replayed over and over again, and with different outcomes each time. 8/10
  • Cost; David is 2.49 Canadian dollars, and the small price tag stunned me at first, as the game has mountains of content and with great music and fun simplistic graphics. After the initial cost, David has no extra DLCs  or purchasable content. 5/5
  • Predictability; The each of the eight stater levels could not be more different, from giant shelled squares to monstrous polygonal shades, each is complex and cunningly crafted in its own separate way. 5/5
  • Entertainment; The game is crazy fun and can last you upwards of three hours to complete, even more if you get addicted to Arena Mode (You poor thing), and the game can be hilariously insane if you try doing anything other than normal. 8/10
  • Difficulty; This game's levels could be seen as difficult for some an easy for others, the thing is, how well your computer works changes how fast everything moves on the screen. which can suck if your computer is-- too good. 8/10
  • Author Review; I first bought this game on sale, in order to use up my two something dollars  in my Steam wallet. And I'll say, it was marvellous, the graphics were great, along with the music and a highly charismatic square as the protagonist, it is everything I look for in a game. 9/10
Total: 43/50 86% We've all got that leftover change from our last Steam transaction, this is what you use it for. (BONUS: The game is available on the app store too!)

Reaper, Tale Of A Pale Swordsman By Hexage

This short Game Review Is for the week of April 12th-19th.
Enter the world ripe with magic and monsters. Become the Black Swordsman and slay thousands of enemies in an epic action RPG! This game allows you to move over a large map, going from A to Point B in order to complete tasks and quests, however, once combat begins the player is transported into a platformer-like battle engine. The game is also available on all mobile platforms.
  • Repeatability: This game can be rather tedious and boring while only looking at the map; because there's only one way to play it. Normally I don't have anything against RPGs, but with such a strict plot the game is little to no fun to play a second time. Players can make small dialogue choices but they rarely change the storyline with magnitude. The only thing players can change while in game is which special abilities or items to purchase, which is great for changing build but doesn't directly change too much in a fight scenario. Luckily, Hexage, the game's developers, have created a massive amount of game content and you need not worry about re-playing. 7/10
  • Cost; Reaper is 5.49 Canadian dollars on The Steam Store, which, for the amount of content in this game, is totally worth it. The mobile version is free, however extra maps and DLCs can be bought in-game. 4/5
  • Predictability: Other than a gut-feeling that you'll get ambushed, the game seems very chaotic and hectic on the first play through. Where you'll fight anything from monstrous boars to huge wasps or spectral apparitions (sometimes all of these at once!). While in combat, mobs are spawning every which way, with only the progress bar showing you any signs of completion. 4/5
  • Entertainment; As I have previously mentioned, this game if brink filled with quests and task, and guess what that means? You guessed it, lots, and lots of fighting. The combat mechanics are a little clunky on both mobile and Steam, but after a short period of gameplay, you can easily adjust to it. 8/10
  • Difficulty; The game is interestingly difficult, certain levels are far too easy, other are extraordinarily hard. Which can force the players to adapt and cope to new environments and challenges each level. 6/10
  • Author Review; I first got a free version of this game with my laptop, yet never bothered to play it. Once i finally did I realized it would be a great topic for an interesting review. So I bought the full game and was personally not disappointed, I myself have never manged to complete the game--it's that hard. But I've played enough to know it's worthy of an eight. 8/10

Total: 37/50 74% If you've got six bucks in your steam wallet, and feel like trying an RPG, I recommend this one.

Changing Up

Hello all my wonderful readers! I understand some of you may be frustrated with my inability to actually hold down a schedule, and for that I sincerely apologize. In order to compensate for this I've invited a close friend of mine to become a co-author, CraftySquidz!

Now as I now am becoming very busy I must unfortunately change my deadline from Fridays to any day in the weekend (Friday included). I apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused.

Nuclear Throne By Vlambeer

Nuclear Throne is Vlambeers latest action roguelike-like about mutants fighting their way through a post-apocalyptic world. The radioactive waste in the world allows mutants to get ahead by mutating new limbs on the fly, the abundant availability of powerful weaponry make the quest to become ruler of the mutants.

  • Repeatability; In this game you move up through the levels, however, when you die, you're forced to restart from level 1! And after you get past stage 3 going back and restarting can get really frustrating, luckily the game is randomly generating for the enemies, allowing each level to be just as difficult--AND as fun--as before, just with all the 'spookies' scattered around in different spots. 9/10
  • Cost; The game costs 13.99 on Steam, can be played for hours on end and the cost is really nothing compared to the amount of enjoyment you'll get. The game gets an update every Friday, so you've always got a new addition to your game. 4/5
  • Predictability; As I previously mentioned the game is randomly generating, this means that the game will randomly pick and distribute enemy characters around  randomly generated maps, loot and prizes are also distributed. The game is intensely sporadic and chaotic, with little to no sense to it. 5/5
  • Entertainment; The entertainment levels for this game are INSANE! As long as you're patient enough to be able to cope with the death of your character every once in a while, you'll find this game extraordinarily amusing! 8/10
  • Difficulty; The game is tough, I won't lie. With enemies hidden in the walls, around corners, and you being forced to restart from the beginning after every death, this game can be frustrating, yet the new abilities you receive after every completed level can always help to shake things up. 7/10
  • Author Review; The game is a crazy top-down shooter (my favorite kind), and is absolutely hilarious. I've said enough. 8/10

Total: 41/50 82% I believe everyone who reads this needs to try this game! -Airborne Lemming

Plague Inc. Evolved By Ndemic Creations

Sorry I didn't manage to post anything this past week-end, it's just be really chaotic with Christmans and all. Here is last Friday's post, better late than never.

Plague Inc. Evolved is a unique mix of high strategy and terrifyingly realistic simulation. Your pathogen has just infected 'Patient Zero' - now you must bring about the end of human history by evolving a deadly, global Plague whilst adapting against everything humanity can do to defend itself.

  • Repeatability; The game is fairly repeatable, with many different types of pathogens and mutations. Everything from Viruses to Bacteria to Neurax Worms are included and more are unlocked with every successful ( I guess thats what you'd call it...) destruction of the human race! With multiple difficulty settings, the players can choose whatever settings and styles suit them.  7/10
  • Cost; Plague costs seventeen dollars on steam, but is temporarily on sale during the holidays for only fourteen dollars. The game is still in its Beta stage and it is not worth the money entirely, but with a constant stream of updates it's rapidly improving. 4/5
  • Predictability; The game is very predictable, and anyone with more than an hour of gameplay experience will quickly notice a pattern and can easily avoid it. 1/5
  • Entertaining; The game can be entertaining depending on your attention span (entire levels take half-an-hour on average), players can easily become bored waiting for anything different to happen. In order to unlock different plagues the player must complete a round on medium difficulty at least, and since the game seems top drag on, if you lose and must retry it can quickly become a boring and repetitive experience. 5/10
  • Difficulty; As mentioned earlier, patterns are easily noticed by even the most inexperienced eye. Due to such patterns the game can become easy to beat and a player will quickly lose interest. Even on the highest setting a strategic gamer will quickly win, making the game very, very simple. 6/10
  • Author Review; I found the game disappointingly simply and easy to beat. Many of the Beta options are still in development, the game would be more entertaining with all the bells and diseases promised. 5/10
Total: 28/50 56% Now I'm running low on good video games to rate, so please leave some comments giving me an idea of what I should do this Friday. Merry Christmas! Airborne Lemming.

Awesomenauts By Ronimo

Awesomenauts, by Ronimo

Conflict spans the stars as huge robot armies are locked in an enduring battle. Head out to the battlefields with your friends in this 3-on-3 action platformer.

  • Repeatability; A "saturday-morning" type game with a dangerously high level of addictiveness (that's a word from now on out). With easy-to-use and semi-customizable characters, along with the uniqueness of each map and each player the game can be played round after round. 8/10
  • Cost; The game is ten dollars on Steam, and the player can also purchase exclusive skins, along with an expansion pack which gives you access to four more characters. This game is worth the small price-tag, but I'd be willing to pay even twice that. 4/5
  • Predictability; With five maps and twelve different characters there is a stunning three hundred and sixty different combinations of players and maps. Each game promises to be very different from the last, due to varying skill-levels and player combos. However, the game lacks an imbalance detector so the player may be forced into a team with new or unskilled players which can create an unfavorable experience. Luckily the game has a ranking device so you will usually be placed with player of your skill levels. 4/5
  • Entertaining; The game is immensely entertaining and can be played around the clock with no boredom whatsoever! Rounds can last up to of a half an hour when playing a fair match, but a loading screen in between rounds can last upwards of three minutes and can waste time. 8/10
  • Difficulty; The game is slightly challenging, and with each win a player can advance farther up in the rankings allowing for more challenging and competitive play. However for the casual gamer, I can promise the game will not be unnecessarily challenging, but will not bore you with simplicity. 9/10
  • Author Review; I greatly enjoyed this game for its breezy yet competitive game-style, its customization, and the ability to go head-to-head with my friends. 8/10

Total: 41/50 82% Positive I highly recommend this game to everyone. Airborne Lemming
